Thank you for sending us your applications and abstracts. The InterCathCon_2025 conference will be attended by 55 Polish and foreign speakers, the expected number of stationary and online participants is about 150 people.
Arrangements for a detailed programme are underway. The final version will be presented on April 4, 2025.
The Faculty of Architecture of Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WA PWr) and the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in Wrocław (PWT Wr) are organising the first international conference related to ecclesia cathedralis on 10-12. 06. 2025. The proceedings will address the following topics:
- tangible heritage – architecture, art, design, heritage preservation;
- spiritual heritage – faith and sacred communion expressed in words, images, architecture and music
A panel will also be organized on churches that are not cathedrals. It is organised by the The Commission on Church Architecture PKN ICOMOS.
An exhibition is also being prepared entitled: Sacrum – profanum – sacrum.
The aim of the InterCathCon conference series is to present the latest research on the spiritual and material heritage of ecclesia cathedralis and other sacred buildings. The main theme of the meetings will be to draw attention to the unique spiritual and historical values of these buildings and to emphasise the responsibility for their condition. An important role will also be played by showing the adaptation of sacred buildings to new functions and popularizing the latest research and conservation methods. Specialists from different countries will be invited to participate in the conferences. This will allow for the exchange of scientific studies and experiences related to the maintenance of the buildings.
